White on white

10" x 10" (Lousy photo I am afraid, despite my best efforts and it being daylight)
Another experiment - battled with this - but its definitely an improvement on my last try of white on white. I can see that I am having problems with the deepest shadows. My instinct tells me they are the same but looking at the image I am not so sure they can be. Determinedly not using tiddly brushes in an attempt to keep loose. I can see that this is going to be one of those subjects that I keep coming back to, even if only to see how I have improved.

Today is the start of Alyson Stanfield's Blast Off course that I have signed up for. Robin Neudorfer gave me the link and after a lot of arguing with myself I decided to bite the bullet and see what I can learn to get my artwork out into the public arena. I'm determined that this year is going to be a breakthrough year.

New Year's Resolution 7 - Take every opportunity presented this year.

I love white on white - especially when someone sees so many hues and tones. Love the combination of using the same colours in both the background and objects. Also loved the pear/pair post and wonderful exercise in colour theory.
Good luck with all your new year resolutions.!!!

Yes, there is something about white that makes us hunt for colours and you've found them so well. I really like this a lot.

I hope Alyson's course does the trick for you and helps you move forward.

Lovely colors you have found on the white Anita, and I think you have mastered the wet into wet technique, well.

Congratulations on signing up for the Blast Off course.

Joan - Its funny how the more you look at white the more the colours leap out at you. The pears were fun to do!

Billie - I remember you white on white piece, great subject matter and wonderful working.

Jeanette - I am hoping that Alyson will show me how to make a leap forward commercially.

Mary - Sometimes you just have to leap in and do something. It might not get you anywhere but then again ..............

Blogger has been slow to load images lately, so I had missed a few.

beautiful form and colour in this one, Anita. I'm also very impressed at the control and detail you are getting with the bigger brushes.

Your marketing course sounds very interesting. great move!

Robyn - I noticed that too with Blogger. I really need to work on the brushwork - I am sure that if you have the technique undercontrol the rest follows more easily. I have high hopes for Alyson's course. We are into day three and its challenging and thought provoking already.
