Injured

No art today - I've done something excruciatingly painful to my shoulder (the right one, my painting arm of course!) and now have my arm in a sling. I'd like to say that it was doing something extraordinary, but it wasn't - just taking laundry out of the washing machine. My husband says I should try painting with my left hand. Who knows what that will look like! Maybe I will start a whole new trend!

Lots of time to read now, catch up with blogs. And no excuse on not doing computer based work like ordering business cards, postcards and the like. Though typing one hand is a little tedious.

Hi Anita, what terrible news. How long will your arm be in a sling?
Have you been given an expected recovery time? And yes, typing with one hand is tedious. I wish you a speedy recovery and until then may find some good pain medication!

Ouch Anita! It's hard to be forced into reflection and computer work...

Hang in there, you'll get back and be all the more passionate! :D

Ouch! isn't it always the small things that get us? Hope you'll be back in the pink quick, Anita.

I'd take your hubby's advice and try drawing with your left hand! pick a simple subject and don't lift your pencil from the paper while drawing. see what happens!

Oh dear! I know the feeling.(Spent 2 months in a cast and nearly went bonkers!) But, yes, do try drawing with your non-dominant hand. It's good practice, like blind contour.

Oh no! One arm typing sucks! Hope it heals fast, at least my art arm is ok, can't imagine the frustration of not being able to create.

Robin - Thank you.

Teresa - the nurse said several days of total rest. Not entirely sure what that means. The medication they gave me is leaving me very spaced out.

Rose - catching up with homework. So there is a silver lining. Need to brainstorm a little too.

Billie - thinking about our mutual left hand challenge. Anything appeal to you?

moreidlethoughts - Its amazing how pathetic you feel!

Terri - I am being good and resting it completely.

Steve - hope to be back in action soon.

Anita - glad yours has healed. Its amazing how when you can't you really want to create, and when you can you get those blank spots
