Hidden Secrets

I think I am developing a love hate relationship with stripes. They start of being fun to do and rapidly turn into a nightmare. I have to admit these particular stripes were worse than any others I have dealt with. Black and white are not the easiest colours to deal with in pastel. This was certainly a challenge not made easier by feeling very rusty after not doing anything for a while.

it may be difficult but you've handled the lights and darks on the black and white really well - the way that sometimes they are equal - or the black in the light being lighter than the white.

Is that a piece of glass with the green edge? I like the luminous green catching the light.

Oh you are brave. Stripes frighten me at the best of times.

However, I don't believe you're as rusty as you think. The image is lovely.

The rusty word isn't convincing, Anita - this is beautiful. I love your silky stripes and the edge of the glass table. I'm always fascinated by your wonderful pastel technique.

Very nice Anita. Is this a different one than the pastel that you showed us last week.
Love the red box, and what could be more fun than stripes.

And you did them anyway, very nicely, I must add! - Barbara

Just stunning Anita. All your work takes my breath away. Good luck with the move and thanks for your lovely comments on my blog the other day. My computer crashed and now I am adding all my contacts and book marks. I am working on Vista and I hate it! LOL. Take care xoxox Lisa

Hi Anita,

I find the different colour properties to be quite well depicted on this work.
I also find the textures convincing, thus giving us the right impression of what the objects are made from.

Kind regards,

José
