Sunny Side Out

View out of the window from my breakfast table. Fun doing this pastel and feel particularly happy with the light showing through the cloth on the table. Begin to feel more at ease with this medium.
"But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun."
William Shakespeare

“Sunlight is painting.”
Nathaniel Hawthorne quotes

The light through the cloth and on the floor is beautiful Anita.

This medium suits you well.

Vivien - I'm thinking of cropping it and doing it again - some of the shapes really speak to me.

Martin - Thank you for commenting!

Jeanette - thank you. Its taken some getting used to pastels. Slowly slowly!

I'd say you've got used to pastels pretty well! The transparency of the cloth is wonderful.

Dave - don't be fooled, it took a while!

Billie - lighting is what always attracts me to a subject. And in this house its a miracle to find any worth capturing!

Thank you Kim!

I love your comment to Dave! Magic light through the tablecloth. Pastels hate me, but you make it look easy - and believe me, I know it isn't!

Thought I had already commented. Guess I forgot to click send. I love this piece. I bet that table looked beautiful with your recent social gatherings. It looks so graceful with the light coming through the window and cloth. Certainly just waiting for life to rush back into the room.

Robyn - they used to hate me too, but I'm beginning to like them so they have no choice any more!

Thank you Lisa!

Robin - the table was nice this morning, all set with brunch, mimosa's (buck's fizz for the Brits), eggs, bacon, sausage, freshly made bluberry muffins. Yummy!
